Brief: Create two A4 book covers for a favourite TV show/film/game

Film poster brief
Take (download or screengrab) any landscape film poster from design company Allcitymedia. Using Photoshop and Photoshop rulers/grid, carefully trace every element in a separate layer, changing opacity of the original.
Label each element.
Underneath, make notes as to the design principles used.

Recreate your own film poster in exactly the same style as the above, taking good quality images from outnow.ch it is a good website. It is also in German... Suchen means search, bilder means images, click on the image to view. Use this font for the credits. 

Magazine brief
Design a three page spread about how to make the most out of Long Road using current students' images and experiences.
The InDesign document needs to be A4 9 column layout
Skim-read the relevant bits of this first.
For practice, you may like to design a rough three page magazine design using these materials from the Guardian story about Rohingya people escaping destruction of their homes in Myanmar. Here is some background reading.

Brief:
Create a social media website 
Think through and make detailed notes on a) purpose b) content c) target user/membership (and why they'd find it useful/emjoyable)
d) production plan with launch date e) possible revenue streams and how much money it could make

f) Draft how the pages will link using a link-plan (with boxes)
g) Justify why certain pages will better link to others, and why that will suit the target audience
h) Consider legal and/or ethical issues i) budget j) launch date k) timescales l) security & privacy of users 

Watch 10 mins of a TV show that is not meant for someone in your target audience. Look at the marketing. How have the producers of the marketing campaign targeted that audience? Annotate the images as an A3 poster.
